Head & shoulders Stephanie Henwood

My career before Your Personal Assistant has been an interesting one. I started down one route but then changed direction and I’ve had the opportunity to travel to many different countries and meet some really interesting wonderful people.

My career started as a team secretary working for a major bank in Bristol but my first foray into marketing came when I was working for a charity. I always had in the back of my mind that someday I wanted to run my own business but I was realistic enough to know that I needed to get a lot of real world experience to make this reality.

I’ve worked in some great industries and learnt a lot about how communications are best delivered especially when dealing with other countries and cultures. I learnt some of my best lessons about how to be a manager from my boss and the industrial ceramics manufacturer.

When I joined the logistics company I realised that between industrial ceramics and pallets, I had chosen some of the worst products to make look sexy however I did do this – it made me realise that I am a good problem solver and to think about things in a different way.

Doing this job also brought to the fore my desire to set up my own business. Various changes in management at the logistics company made me realise that I did not want to work directly for other people any more – I wanted to be my own boss. The issue was, I didn’t know what that business should be.

After helping out friends with websites and several discussions with them and family members, it was suggested that I would make a great virtual assistant. So I looked into it and here I am. The thing I want everyone to realise though is that I am a real person, not a generated AI entity so when you work with me you get real support from a real person with nearly 20 years experience.
